L'architettura rallenta come la luna, lo spazio ha un leggero smarrimento, l'immagine cambia le regole della percezione. È il ritorno del trompe l'œil dopo l'anno 2000 con altre funzioni e nuove tecniche. Non è più l'isola felice dell'Arcimboldo alla corte di Vienna, il trompe l'œil di Sbagliato è l'œil di un'immagine urbana di una città smarrita, di un'immagine urbana di una città smarrita nel tessuto urbano e penso alle barricate di Sbagliato apre una finestra sull'arte contemporanea e penso alle barricate di Delacroix, con la bandiera, la luce accesa di un treno in corsa, un campanello che scuote il cervello assopito dal dormiveglia di immagini spente. L'unica architettura senza finestre è l'ultima dimora.

Architecture slows like the moon, space is seized by a slight disorientation, the image shifts the rules of perception. It is the return of trompe l'œil after the year 2000, with new functions and new techniques. It is no longer the happy island of Arcimboldo at the court of Vienna — the trompe l'œil of Sbagliato is the œil of an urban image of a city gone astray, lost within the urban fabric. And I think of the barricades: Sbagliato opens a window onto contemporary art, and I think of Delacroix's barricades, the flag, the light blazing from a speeding train, a bell that jolts the mind half-asleep in a dormiveglia of extinguished images. The only architecture without windows is the final resting place.
For Gio Ponti, the window was an idyll, a smile running along the walls. For a gallery that in 1973 tore down its walls, windows are the promised land — a transparent breach without restrictions.
