Nel 2013 il muro esterno del centro sociale Brancaleone venne trasformato mediante l'applicazione di una serie di poster che simulavano forature nel cemento, evocando l’estetica brutalista. L’intervento suggeriva un’architettura resa porosa, capace di lasciar intravedere la vita interna del luogo. Il riferimento all’Alveare inteso come spazio affollato, rumoroso e laborioso offriva una chiave di lettura immediata: il Brancaleone come organismo collettivo, abitato da famiglie e animato da attività culturali e sociali da oltre trent’anni. Le aperture stampate funzionavano come finestre immaginarie, rivelando simbolicamente ciò che il cemento nasconde: la continuità delle pratiche, la presenza delle persone, il ritmo quotidiano della comunità. Il muro, da superficie opaca, diventava così una membrana narrativa che restituiva la densità sociale dello spazio attraverso un gesto visivo minimo ma incisivo.
In 2013, the exterior wall of the Brancaleone community centre was transformed through a series of posters that simulated holes in the concrete, evoking the Brutalist aesthetic. The installation suggested an architecture rendered porous, capable of offering a glimpse into the inner life of the space. The reference to the Beehive — understood as a crowded, noisy and bustling space — offered an immediate interpretation: the Brancaleone as a collective organism, inhabited by families and animated by cultural and social activities for over thirty years. The printed openings functioned as imaginary windows, symbolically revealing what the concrete conceals: the continuity of daily life, the presence of people, and the community’s daily rhythm. The wall, once an opaque surface, thus became a narrative membrane that conveyed the social density of the space through a minimal yet incisive visual gesture.
